In the aftermath of the carnage Rukoko, all eyes are on the leaders of theDemocratic Alliance for Change (ADC-Ikibiri) to see who could be reallybehind this black project to plunge the country into another cycle ofviolence. As many expected, the ruling party, CNDD-FDD sees a hand of his unconditional opposition. "Therecent terrorist attack Rukoko must be openly condemned by allpolitical actors, including the allied parties in the Alliance ofDemocrats for Change," said 19 September 10, Salvator Ntahomenyereye,CNDD-FDD parliamentarian elected in the district of Bubanza. Hefurther argues that if these political actors of the silent faceopposition to the revival of violence in the country, they have provedthey are definitely in cahoots with the current rebel and horriblydestructive. Through his spokesman,Chauvineau Mugwengwezo, CDA has strongly condemned the criminals whoattacked and killed the workers of the company Tanganyika BusinessCompany of the businessman Nahum Barankiriza. Butparties / leaders of the alliance members do not feel challenged aswell as the presidential party to rectify the situation or bouter thatanother generation of terrorists outside the country. They camped on their initial claim of dialogue.
"Wehave always demanded a framework for dialogue with the ruling party tocompromise and keep moving forward, but the CNDD-FDD has preferred thevoice of terror, lynching and repression, we believe that itis not afraid of violence and for respect of such attacks in Rukoko orelsewhere, is simply a matter of government in place that should bringsecurity, it is disrupted by thugs armed rebels or real, "says Leonce Ngendakumana, President of FRODEBU (a leader of the coalition). The leader of FRODEBU is categorical: the CDA has no connection with the attacks in question and nothing can be asked about it. He washes his hands and insists on the idea of dialogue. But this possibility of dialogue is already twigged the CNDD-FDD and those who wear it to heart. "Inreality, the idea of dialogue is perceived by the CNDD-FDD as astrategy for the opposition to move toward a transition, about sharingpower, in fine, I remembered that whenever there beendialogue between political actors in Burundi, the result was none otherthan the sharing of power and the CNDD-FDD has difficulty imaginingsuch an alternative in the wake of its landslide victory, "said JosephNdayizeye, president of the League of Human Human Iteka. Nevertheless, the ADC-Ikibiri remains in the crosshairs of power. Toprove that it still never leaves a foot, the authorities sent thepolice to prevent a news conference that the CDA members would organize17 September 10. The day before, morepolice staged a dawn raid at the residence of party president MSD ADCmember, and had exhibited dozens of parcels held as police dug thisopponent already in exile.
